One Revolution cinematically captures Chris Waddell’s very human journey to dare greatly and ultimately to live fully. This film chronicles the heart and spirit behind an extraordinary achievement as it documents the first, almost entirely unassisted, paraplegic ascent of 19,340-foot Mt. Kilimanjaro.
One Revolution opens as dawn breaks atop Africa’s tallest mountain, Mount Kilimanjaro. Briefly, glimpses of the mountain frame Chris Waddell as he transfers to his specially designed handcycle. The air is tense as Chris begins the fifth day of his ascent. Etched within every movement he makes is the weighty knowledge that this may be his one chance to have the world see people like himself not as something less, but equals and possibly as something more–as someone with something significant to contribute. If he makes the summit the world may understand his message; if he fails, he may be just another guy in a wheelchair.
One Revolution documentary was produced through One Revolution Foundation. DVDs are available for purchase, easy downloads are available through iTunes, and private screenings of the film are also available. For more information, contact us at: (435) 655-2655 or info@one-revolution.org.
Amanda Stoddard is an active member of the One Revolution team. As documentary film director, One Revolution was Stoddard’s first film, which was written up by Forbes. A graduate of the University of Utah Film School, Amanda has been an industry professional more than 10 years. She has worked on network television, commercial and theatrical projects including many self-produced shorts. One Revolution has been a labor of love from the start taking over 3 years to produce with vast amounts of footage and a constricted budget. The film succeeded due to Amanda’s determination and skill, where she often stepped in as a camera op or editor when needed in order to complete the film.
Chris was featured Friday night, July 23, 2011 on ABC’s 20/20’s “Super Humans” segment (9 pm EDT)! In the show, Chris talks about his 2009 climb and his upcoming ten-week national tour of of his education program, Nametags™, and award-winning documentary, One Revolution.
